Piscifun Pro Caleb Kuphall Conquers Guntersville
The BassMaster Elite Series has long been revered as the pinnacle of the sport of Bass Fishing.
It is a dream for so many young anglers to one day be able to compete in this field of the best anglers in the world.
Piscifun Pro Caleb Kuphall grew up in Wisconsin, where he spent his time fishing a local bass pond and reading BassMaster magazine in hopes of one day becoming talented enough to compete against the best in the world. Over the years Caleb has worked hard to be able to compete at the highest level in Bass Fishing, earning his shot at the Elites by way of the BassMaster Opens and Qualifying for the BassMaster Classic!
Although Caleb calls Wisconsin home, he is no stranger to Lake Guntersville, as he has competed on this body of water many times over the years. That being said, nothing can be taken for granted when you’re going up against the best in the world in the Berkeley BassMaster Elite Series Event!
Caleb was able to locate two KEY areas that led him to a DAY 1 MONSTER Bag with 27 pounds 10 ounces! He was able to jump into an early lead, but was unsure if his spots could hold up for the remainder of the tournament.
Caleb was primarily using his Piscifun Phantom and Alloy M casting reels throughout the week during the tournament.
He was able to find a big fish bite flipping and pitching into different areas with multiple types of vegetation.... if you know Caleb even just a little bit - you know this plays right into his favorite style of fishing.
After 3 days of competition - Caleb went into Championship Sunday with a size-able lead of over 10lbs of Bass! Even with this lead, Caleb knew that on Lake Guntersville with these anglers, ANYTHING can happen. With this motivation, Caleb was able to land over 19lbs on Championship Sunday earning him the win by more than 17 pounds, the second largest winning margin of any Elite Series event in history!
Not only did Caleb get to compete this weekend in the Berkeley Lake Guntersville BassMaster Elite Event, but he absolutely dominated the field with a runaway victory and in doing so has become the first angler from Wisconsin to ever win a BassMaster Elite Series Event!
We want to say a HUGE congratulations to Caleb, you’re a tremendous angler and person, there is no one more deserving than you after all the hard work and dedication you have committed to the sport of Bass Fishing!
We have a feeling this won’t be the last time that we see Mr. Kuphall at the top of the leaderboard!
